Diversions around Lancaster

River Lune flood defense works. Read more…

The closure of the riverside path out of Lancaster almost as far as the M6 is now planned for w/c 10th February 2020 and will provide 1.7 miles of flood defence from the River Lune. It’s likely to last for up to 12 months.

The Way of the Roses diversion route will use the segregated path alongside the A683 Bay Gateway road (see blue dashed line on the map) and is in the process of being signed by Lancashire County Council highways. It will be monitored and maintained throughout.
